Products and items for sale were photographed in the studio, or on the shop floor with arrangements decided by the in house photography team. Images were intended for in store promotional displays, sales catalogues, and local newspaper advertisements. Commercial photography outside of Gimbels also supplemented Bob's income. He would photograph people in their work environment in order to help promote their products and services.
